Chili con carne, or chili with meat, is considered one of the main dishes of popular Tex-Mex cuisine. It is essentially a spicy stew made with chili peppers and meat (usually beef), often accompanied by tomatoes and beans.

Due to its geographical origins, there are many variations of this dish, some of which may not include beans. Additional ingredients such as sour cream, cheese, or onions can be added, and pork can be used as an alternative to beef. It is typically served with tortillas, tamales, nachos, rice, or pasta.
