Honeybush Tea BIO
Honeybush Tea BIO
Cyclopia meyeriana
Honeybush tea comes from South Africa and is made from the honeybush plant. The name comes from the sweet, honey-like scent of its yellow flowers, which is often compared to rooibos tea.
It can be consumed plain, and milk and sugar are often added to it, same as to black tea, which further emphasizes the sweet taste. With honey you can emphasize the honey aroma, which the tea itself already has, and without it you can enjoy the taste described as similar to apricot, flowers, honey and dried fruit. Also, it is often drunk cold because its slightly sweet taste combines well with fruit.
To prepare it, heat the water up to 100ºC and let it cool a little, then pour it over the dry leaves. Honeybush tea does not contain caffeine and can be drunk throughout the day.
