  • Mint syrup 25 ml
  • Lemon juice 25 ml
  • Candied hibiscus (for decoration)
Preparation:
  1. Pour all the ingredients in a container that you can close (if you do not have a shaker, you can use a thermos can or an empty jar).
  2. Add 5-6 ice cubes in the container.
  3. Shake it well for 10 seconds with up and down movements for all the ingredients to combine.
  4. Pour through a strainer in a glass with 5 ice cubes.
  5. If you like rum, carribean flavors and mint, this could become one of the coctails that will put a smile on your face.
  6. Decorate with mint.

Preparation of Jamaica tea:
Pour hot water over 10 grams (or 4 teaspoons) of Jamaica tea and let it rest for 5 minutes.
Strain through a sieve and let cool.

Preparation of mint syrup:
Put 1 dcl of water and 100 grams of sugar in a small pot. Heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Leave it to cool for half an hour and add about 15 mint leaves. Leave overnight and strain through a sieve in the morning.

To make it easier to measure and prepare this cocktail, you can use a shot glass with an average volume of 30 ml.

Jamaica tea is a tropical, exotic, refreshing tea with the taste of hibiscus and the sweetness of other tropical fruits. It is easily combined with citrus notes as well as notes of various refreshing spices such as mint. Mint syrup will be an additional complement to fresh mint, and with rum it goes extremely well with hibiscus and barberry.

To get Jamaica tea, we mixed pieces of various local fruits with large, delicately sweet pineapple flakes. We have added safflower, sunflower and cornflower flowers that really enchant. We added an almost identical aroma of Cola and a few lemon drops.

We added the juice of half a lemon to this to balance out the mint sugar syrup, which will give freshness, but also sweetness, and give the cocktail more complexity. Feel free to substitute lemon for lime to get more refreshment. It is recommended to use a slightly better white rum that will further satisfy your taste buds.

Discreet, but simply unforgettable!
This refreshing creation is destined to be served as iced tea and as a cocktail. It will take you under the clear evening sky of Havana.
