Strawberries in white chocolate and matcha tea

A light dessert for the upcoming summer days

Time Needed: 45 min
Difficulty:
Amount: x2 persons
Ingredients:
Preparation:
  1. Clean, wash, and dry the strawberries.
  2. Soak the dates for 15 minutes in hot water to make them go soft. After they become soft, take out their seeds.
  3. While the dates are soaking, melt 200 g of chocolate drops in an appropriate bowl. This is the easiest in the microwave - two to three intervals of 30 seconds and the chocolate will be melted. Stir the chocolate between every interval. The drops can also be belted on a low fire in a pot until their consistency becomes smooth.
  4. Mix the dates and melted chocolate together, which will be the easiest to do with a hand blender or a regular blender. If the mixture is too hard to mix, add some water, but be careful not to make it too thin.
  5. Cover the whole strawberries with the mixture. When all of the strawberries are covered in dates and chocolate, place them on baking paper on a big enough plate and put them for 15 minutes in the fridge to cool down.
  6. While the strawberries are cooling down in the fridge, use the same melting method to melt 200 g of white chocolate drops. When melting the white chocolate in which you will mix the matcha powder, it is important to be careful that it does not go over 70 °C because the matcha will otherwise lose its properties.
  7. Add one teaspoon of matcha tea to the melted white chocolate and mix them well together until you get a nice flavor and texture. Pour the matcha chocolate into a deep enough bowl or glass to dip the strawberries in.
  8. Poke wooden sticks into the strawberries (you can use barbecue sticks, shorten them if necessary) dip them one by one in the mixture, and let the excess drain back into the bowl in which you are dipping them.
  9. Place the strawberries on a big enough serving plate with baking paper and put them in the freezer for 15 minutes. After the mixture of white chocolate and matcha is firm enough, you can serve this irresistible dessert as you wish.
